Hermione Granger-inspired knitting roundup!!!

**************************************************

Of Hallows and Horcruxes Sweater  - This sweater is inspired by the sweater worn by Hermione Granger in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1” during several of the scenes set in the forest.

Hermione’s Scarf - The Fair Isle scarf worn by Hermione in the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince movie.

Elan Mitts  -  Knit in a similar style to Hermione’s fingerless mitts in The Deathly Hallows.

Godric’s Hollow Hat  -  A hat inspired by the one Hermione is wearing in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Hermione Hearts Ron Hat  -  This sweet little hat was inspired by the movie based on the book Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Hermione’s Everyday Socks  -  Hermione, as described in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter Series, is a rather smart and practical heroine. While she can dress up with the best of them, these socks remind me of something she might wear while practicing charms or transfiguration or reading up on Arithromancy in the Gryffindor Common Room.

Hermione’s Time Turner Mitts  -  Hermione applies her knitting skills in her attempts to liberate the Hogwarts house-elves in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Scholastic, 2003), but before she embarked on charity knitting, she may have tried her hand at a few functional garments for herself, such as these mitts. With a Time-Turner in her possession, she could have found the extra time that every knitter craves to finish projects. Maybe she carried her entire knitting library around with her in her bag with the Undetectable Extension Charm? “Accio Knitter’s Companion!”

Mudblood Cardigan  -  Hermione Granger was the inspiration for this design. She may be Muggle-born, but she’s also the cleverest witch her age. Her cleverness and strength make her a favorite. The Mudblood Cardigan is inspired by her fitted, simply lined, girl-next-door style, a look that is perfect for doing battle against the Dark Arts.

The fall 2014 issue of Interweave Knits has, as always, about a million things I want to knit.  Here are some sweaters I fancy:

Roosevelt Cardigan

Hitch Pullover

Polo Pullover

Meadow Tunic

Redfern Cardigan

Ropemaker Pullover

Saddleback Cardigan

I kind of want them all.

The August Effect: The patient starts to crave blustery winds and pumpkin spice lattes, root vegetables and cozying up in huge scarves. Common symptoms include a vast increase in knitting output, the tendency to wear sweaters even though it’s still hot, and a reluctance to live in a reality where summer won’t end for another five weeks.
